Dexter Studios is set to pioneer a groundbreaking creative interface that seamlessly generates video content directly from a creator’s brainwave signals.
Dexter Studios (206560; hereinafter “Dexter”), a leading powerhouse in content and visual effects production, announced its participation in a national R&D initiative titled “Development of Mind Prompting Agent Technology Linked with Brainwaves,” spearheaded by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), and led by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).
The core objective of this project is to develop a “Mind Prompting” interface capable of directly decoding and structuring a human’s creative intent from neural signals, and subsequently engineering an AI-driven video creation agent. The framework focuses on instantly generating 2K-resolution images and videos mapped from brainwave data, coupled with a robust system that enables iterative refinement and editing through “multi-turn” dialogue—a continuous interactive model that contextualizes preceding conversational threads.
The current generative AI landscape for video production relies heavily on textual prompts or physical input devices. This current paradigm poses significant bottlenecks, as the precise visual concepts conceived in a creator’s mind often suffer from distortion or loss of detail during textual translation. Consequently, production efficiency is crippled by redundant prompting cycles and endless revision loops to secure the desired output. This underscores the critical necessity for a highly intuitive, interactive interface capable of instantaneously materializing a creator’s imagination within a digital sandbox.
To address this, the consortium will construct a massive dataset infrastructure by capturing a diverse array of brainwave modalities under human visual stimuli and imaginative environments. Furthermore, they will develop “Brain-to-Vector” technology, which isolates stylistic expression and core semantics from brainwave signals, translating them into dense numerical vectors digestible by AI. Through this innovation, directors in the pre-production and conceptualization stages of films or dramas can rapidly project abstract thoughts into tangible storyboard-style images and videos via real-time neural analysis, eliminating the need for any manual text inputs.
Dexter will spearhead the empirical validation phase by integrating this newly developed Mind Prompting technology directly into commercial production workflows, such as pre-visualization (pre-vis). Through these real-world testing grounds, Dexter aims to rigorously verify the technology’s enterprise readiness and establish standardized technical blueprints for the broader commercial content market.
“We anticipate that this paradigm shift toward mental imagery-driven production—where thoughts seamlessly convert into actionable content—will exponentially reduce both the time and resources traditional pipelines demand,” said Jaewon Song, Director of Dexter’s R&D Center. “This milestone will not only solidify our formidable technological leadership in the global visual effects market but will also position us to conquer uncharted territories in next-generation devices and immersive production environments.”
