Dexter Pictures (CEO Dong-hyun Kim), a content production company and subsidiary of comprehensive content studio Dexter Studios (206560), participated in the “Broadcasting Worldwide 2026 (BCWW 2026)” held at COEX in Seoul on September 15. The company shared its global collaboration cases and IP expansion strategies through its first original IP drama project, ‘DIVE INTO YOU’.
Celebrating its 26th anniversary, BCWW 2026 is an international broadcasting content market where domestic and international broadcasting and video content companies, platforms, and production studios gather to share industry trends and business strategies. Under the theme “Illuminate All Possibilities,” this year’s event set a record scale with 403 companies from 17 countries across 181 booths.
Dong-hyun Kim, CEO of Dexter Pictures, took the stage as the speaker for Part 2 of the session titled “New Engine for K-Drama Growth: Collaboration Model between Rakuten Viki and Production Studio “. He introduced the project as an exemplary case of collaborating with a global OTT platform from the investment and production stages, built upon an original IP planned and developed in-house.
‘DIVE INTO YOU’, Dexter Pictures’ first original IP drama, represents global OTT platform Rakuten Viki’s first major direct investment in a K-drama. It is a global co-production project featuring Amuse Entertainment, the Korean subsidiary of Japanese entertainment giant Amuse.
In this presentation, Dexter Pictures drew strong industry interest by showcasing a global strategic model where a production company and a global OTT platform form direct partnerships starting from the planning and development stages. This flexible co-financing structure reduces financial risks while ensuring the production company retains IP ownership. Under this arrangement, Dexter Pictures co-retains original IP ownership and secondary business rights—including remakes, multi-season licensing, OSTs, publishing, merchandise, and pop-up exhibitions—while global partners Rakuten Viki and Amuse join forces to maximize long-term IP value through equity investment and extensive global marketing support.
Dong-hyun Kim, CEO of Dexter Pictures, stated, “‘DIVE INTO YOU’ is a highly meaningful project that presents a new model of collaboration, allowing partners across South Korea, the US, and Japan to explore success potential while launching an original Korean IP into the global market. Amid the challenging domestic production landscape, I am delighted to introduce a ‘strategic co-growth model’ at this event—moving beyond simple subcontracting or basic rights licensing to co-nurture IP value with global partners from the very beginning.”
Additionally, Dexter Pictures captured significant industry interest by unveiling upcoming projects, including a live-action adaptation of the legendary Korean animated super IP ‘Meoteol’, ‘Gukpung 81’ (a film exposing the hidden truths behind the lavish 1981 national cultural festival), along with ‘Rookie Bang Da-in’, ‘Seolwoon’, and ‘Lee Se-jong’.
Meanwhile, ‘DIVE INTO YOU’ tells the story of twin siblings Hana Yoon (played by Ji-yeon Kim) and Haru Yoon (played by Se-hyuk Jang), who discover they can travel back in time through an old camcorder and jump into the past to save Woo-jae Jeong (played by Seoham Park). The drama will premiere domestically on Saturday, September 26 on Disney+ and Channel A, while reaching global audiences through Rakuten Viki in up to 200 languages.
