Dexter Studios (206560, hereinafter Dexter) announced it has undertaken the operational services for the Bomun Multimedia Show ‘Millennium Moon’, commemorating the 2025 APEC Summit, opening in Gyeongju on the 17th.
This project aims to transform the Bomun Lake area in Gyeongju into a nighttime tourist attraction, reflecting the 2025 APEC Summit theme ‘Building a Sustainable Tomorrow’ and its key priorities: ‘Connect’, ‘Innovate’, and ‘Prosper’. It seeks to support the successful hosting of the APEC Summit and foster long-term regional tourism revitalization.
The consortium of Dexter and media art company ‘easywith’, which secured the project, will contribute to the overall event by handling ▲content planning and production, including a multimedia show commemorating the APEC Summit combined with performances ▲planning of experiential programs and ancillary facilities ▲design of an integrated operation system and on-site operations, as well as planning and production of the opening ceremony. The total project cost is 4.994 billion won.
Dexter is responsible for producing the permanent multimedia show ‘Mystery of a Thousand Years, Flying Tomorrow,’ running from Friday, October 17 to Sunday, November 2 at the Bomun Lake Water Performance Hall. Centered around a 15-meter diameter Big Circle on the surface of Bomun Lake, it created an emotional 3D multimedia show combining content that realized a unique spatial sense through three large LED screens, stage direction, and sound. Inspired by butterfly wings—where small patterns coalesce into a grand form—and the butterfly effect, where minor changes create major ripples, the show expresses the power of Korean culture spreading across the world like the expanding waves of a butterfly’s wingbeat.
‘The Mystery of a Thousand Years, Flying Toward Tomorrow’ will also meet visitors as a grand performance show, linked with the opening ceremony of the Bomun Multimedia Show and a special performance featuring global economic leaders. Combining large-scale media art, lasers, drones, fireworks, and other production elements with breakdancing and martial arts performances, it conveys a message wishing for ‘success, prosperity, and a sustainable future’. Through the fusion of cutting-edge technology and emotive 3D design, it will provide creative content embodying APEC’s future vision and a differentiated viewing experience.
Lee Hyun-min, Head of Dexter’s Immersive Content Division, stated, “Our goal was to create content that transcends generations, nations, and languages, allowing all visitors to experience and enjoy it, thereby drawing the interest and empathy of the global audience attending the APEC Summit.” He added, “We will convey the future vision of the APEC Summit through a differentiated artistic language that combines internationally competitive content quality with future-oriented technological prowess.”
Dexter, which has planned and produced numerous media art contents including the Korea Creative Content Agency’s <Gwanghae Era>, the National Museum of Korea’s <Pyeongsaengdo>, and Grand Josun Media’s <Grand Vertical Stage> and <Lunasol>, is preparing to open the immersive media art exhibition hall ‘Flashback : Gyerim’ within the Bomun Tourist Complex in Gyeongju this October. The exhibition is themed around the legends of the thousand-year kingdom of Silla. By accelerating its media art business to secure new growth engines, Dexter is solidifying its position as a one-stop content production studio, recognized for its competitiveness in content planning, production technology, spatial design, and overall operations.
