Visual effects (VFX) and content company Dexter Studios (CEO: Kim Wook, Kang Jong-ik) announced on April 14 that the company is offering stock grants (free company stock) to its employees.
This stock grant is an incentive, without any additional costs and no mandatory holding period for employees to retain their stock. All employees who joined Dexter Studios before 2021, excluding executives such as the CEO, will be rewarded according to their years of service regardless of their job group.
This incentive offer makes Dexter Studios the first in the VFX industry to hand out stock grants to its employees. The company plans to further motivate employees and strengthen their sense of ownership of the work they do at Dexter Studios with the free treasury stock offer. Furthermore, it is expected that employees will become shareholders and lead the company together, creating a virtuous cycle that improves performance and results.
Dexter Studios, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, has been setting new benchmarks to lead the VFX industry by focusing on the development of new and innovative VFX technology. Notable projects include “1987,” “PMC: The Bunker,” “Parasite,” “Space Sweepers,” and “The Pirates” series, and the company is working on “The Moon,” “Silence,” “Emergency Declaration,” “Alienoid,” and “Wonderland” at the moment
Meanwhile, Dexter Studios has also grown remarkably as a comprehensive content company over the past ten years. It has a “one-stop” system that takes care of content planning, shooting, production, and post-production. The company used this system to produce “Mr. Go,” its first-ever major movie production, the “Along with the Gods” series as well as “Ashfall” and “Escape from Mogadishu,” all of which were praised by both critics and the general public.
Recently, Dexter Studios is actively responding to changes in the environment by expanding its OTT studio lines and launching a virtual studio. It is also pouring more resources into new growth engines by entering into new businesses using VFX technology. As part of these efforts, the company is steadily expanding its NFT and metaverse businesses, including immersive media such as VR, AR, XR, and virtual human products.
In line with its growth as a company, Dexter Studios is also making genuine efforts to improve in-house welfare for its employees. The company has introduced a variety of benefits to improve working conditions, starting with a salary bump for all employees, which was carried out separately from regular wage negotiations last year. It also expanded its selective welfare system and support for personal events (weddings, funerals, etc.), added a new paid leave system, and vacation bonus.
Dexter Studios’ CEOs Kim Wook and Kang Jong-ik said, “The reason Dexter Studios has been able to grow as rapidly as it has so far is that our executives and staff did their absolute best in their respective positions. With this stock grant, we are hoping to show our gratitude for their work and commitment to date.” They added, “Dexter Studios will continue to come up with various compensation schemes so that everyone can grow together going forward.”
