Dexter Studios has joined forces with acclaimed director Park Chan-wook on his latest internationally anticipated feature, “No Other Choice.”
The content production company Dexter Studios (206560, “Dexter”) announced its participation in the VFX department for Park’s twelfth feature film.
No Other Choice tells the story of Man-soo (Lee Byung-hun), a company employee who believed his life to be complete and fulfilling until he is suddenly laid off. Determined to protect his wife and two children and to hold onto the home he worked so hard to acquire, he embarks on a personal war in pursuit of reemployment, setting the stage for a gripping and deeply human drama.
Ahead of its domestic release on September 24, No Other Choice was selected as the opening film for the 30th Busan International Film Festival. The film received a nine-minute standing ovation following its screening at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and went on to win the People’s Choice Award at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival. Chosen as Korea’s official submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the upcoming 98th Academy Awards, No Other Choice has already been pre-sold to over 200 territories worldwide, earning widespread acclaim from global audiences and critics alike.
Dexter’s VFX Division, known for its work on major titles such as the “Along with the Gods” series, “Ashfall,” “Space Sweepers,” “The Moon,” “Escape from Mogadishu,” and the Academy Award-winning “Parasite,” has demonstrated exceptional versatility across genres ranging from epic fantasy to historical drama. For No Other Choice, the division once again delivered highly detailed and realistic visual effects that elevated the immersive mise-en-scène characteristic of Park Chan-wook’s distinctive directing style.
