Dexter Studios continues to demonstrate its global competitiveness by consistently securing overseas VFX production projects.
Dexter Studios (206560, hereafter “Dexter”) announced that it has signed a contract to provide VFX technical services for the drama T (working title), produced by the Japanese video production company Episcope.
The total contract value is approximately 5.82 billion Korean won, with the contract period running from July 18, 2025, to January 29, 2027.
Dexter has worked on multiple projects in collaboration with Japanese production companies, including the Hollywood release “Knights of the Zodiac,” based on the globally beloved Japanese manga; the Netflix film “City Hunter,” adapted from the popular manga series with over 50 million copies sold; and the live-action Netflix series “YuYu Hakusho,” considered a representative work of the Japanese occult genre manga.
Notably, Dexter was responsible for the VFX production of both the acclaimed Netflix title “Parasyte: The Gray,” which won the Best Digital VFX award, and the nominee YuYu Hakusho, both based on popular Japanese IPs and respectively nominated for Best Digital VFX at the 2024 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards.
Leveraging its top-tier post-production expertise and competitiveness in Asia, Dexter continues to foster exchanges with the Japanese video production industry. In June, representatives from 13 companies affiliated with the Japan Post Production Association visited Dexter to explore its post-production technologies and discuss potential collaboration opportunities. Following their visit in 2024, the Japan Post Production Association made a second consecutive visit to Dexter. Founded in 1993 with the goal of revitalizing Japan’s post-production market and promoting the content industry, the association currently has over 150 member companies engaged in the TV program, film, and advertising sectors of the video content industry.
A representative from Dexter stated, “Based on our differentiated post-production expertise and deep understanding of Japan’s video production environment and IPs, we continue to maintain active collaboration with the Japanese video industry. Drawing on our extensive experience with overseas projects involving numerous producers in Japan, China, and beyond, we are steadily expanding our global production participation footprint.”
