Dexter Krema is looking to bolster its capacity for technological innovation by partnering with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) to develop a large language model (LLM) for its personalized AI advertising automation solution, “Adplorer.”
Dexter Krema, an AI digital marketing subsidiary of Dexter Studios [206560], announced that it has signed a technology transfer agreement with KISTI for the generative AI language model “KONI.” The agreement was signed by co-CEOs Dong Jin Son and Song Gyeong Woon, and KISTI President Lee Sik.
The signing ceremony took place on November 29, attended by Dexter Krema CEO Dong Jin Son, Research Director Park Gyu-tae, KISTI’s Director of National Science and Technology Data Headquarters Choi Gwang-nam, and Director of the Super AI Research Group Lee Gyeong-ha, along with other key officials from both organizations.
With this new agreement as a foundation, both parties will work over the next two years to develop an LLM optimized for advertising applications, utilizing KISTI’s small language model (sLLM) “KONI” developed specifically for the conditions in Korea. Dexter Krema will serve as the lead organization, with KISTI commissioned to perform the hands-on R&D. Meanwhile, prior to its agreement with KISTI, Dexter Krema was selected for the SME Technology Innovation Development Project, an R&D initiative organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The goal of this project is to significantly improve the speed and accuracy of the existing Adplorer. To achieve this, Dexter Krema will train its proprietary advertising dataset and fine-tune “KONI” using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology.
Upon completion, it will be the first LLM in the advertising marketing field in Korea. Dexter Krema wants to secure differentiated technology and competitiveness powered by AI as well as big data, which are gaining attention across all industries, to prepare for further growth in the future.
Lee Gyeong-ha, Director of the Super AI Research Group at KISTI, stated, “This project is significant as it not only involves training the generative AI language model ‘KONI’ developed using technology we’ve developed here in Korea for specific domains but also connects it to commercial applications in the real world.”
Dexter Krema’s co-CEO Dong Jin Son said, “We hope to establish a practical convergence model for the advertising industry and science technology by collaborating with KISTI. Based on differentiated technology and innovation, we will continue to secure a leading position in advertising and marketing.”
