Visual effects (VFX) and content company Dexter Studios Co., Ltd(CEO: Kim Wook, Kang Jong-ik). is expanding its portfolio to include the advertising VFX field by launching Takeaway (CEO: Jeong Gyeog-hwa), a new advertising content video production company of its subsidiary Dexter Krema Co., Ltd. (CEO: Son Dong-jin, Son Gyeong-woon; hereinafter “Dexter Krema”).

Dexter Krema, a subsidiary of Dexter Studios, officially launched Takeaway and opened the company for business back in mid-May. Takeaway is a post-production company specializing in video production for advertisements with services such as 2D synthesizing, 2D CG, 3D CG, design, and DI (digital color correction) using system operations optimized for advertisement productions.
Takeaway also has a PD-production function through which a professional producer (PD) is responsible for the planning, composition, and directing of high-quality video content. In responding to the rapidly changing trends in the Korean and overseas advertising markets, the company plans to present stand-out services by providing integrated solutions that can cover everything from planning videos to delivering final products (videos).
In line with the launch of Takeaway, Dexter Studios is strategically seeking to create new immersive virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR) content using its virtual production technology and advanced technology infrastructure.
Dexter Studios’ CEOs Kim Wook and Kang Jong-ik said, “The need for VFX technology capable of making products more immersive is growing in the advertising content business.” They explained, “The combination of Takeaway’s own human resources specializing in VFX for advertisements and Dexter Studios VFX know-how and technology will help to not only produce high-quality content, but also strengthen the competitiveness of the industry overall.”
Dexter Krema, incorporated as a subsidiary of Dexter Studios in September 2021, is a comprehensive advertising agency that has grown into a bona fide global advertising planning and integrated communication agency for leading Korean companies for more than a decade. The company already had a long-standing relationship with Dexter Studios prior to becoming its subsidiary – the two companies worked on various projects such as joint productions of short-form commercial content, joint development and investment of metaverse-based immersive videos.
Dexter Studios is an all-in-one comprehensive content company that offers content planning, shooting, production, and post-production services through its “’one-stop system.” To date, Dexter Studios has produced box office hits such as “Mr. Go” (2013), “Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds” (2017), “Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days” (2018), “Ashfall” (2019), and “Escape from Mogadishu” (2021).
Meanwhile, Dexter Studios is focusing on promoting its new media business using VR, AR, and XR technology. To that end, in April, it signed a business agreement on planning and executing “Project Gyerim,” a media art exhibition project in Gyeongju. As part of the project, Dexter Studios is developing realistic and immersive media art content using cutting-edge exhibition techniques.
