Dexter Studios(KOSDAQ: 206560) announced that key representatives from 3Cat, a major media group in Catalonia, Spain, and the Film Fund Luxembourg sequentially visited Dexter Studios’ headquarters to explore strategic collaboration across content production, post-production value chains, and AI technology application.
Dexter Studios continues to expand its global touchpoints within the film and media industry based on its all-in-one production capabilities—integrating the entire value chain from content development to post-production services such as VFX (Visual Effects), DI (Digital Intermediate), and sound design—alongside its diverse portfolio spanning films, series, and immersive content, as well as its pioneering AI VFX pipeline.
3Cat is a public media group operated by the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, Spain—a key European media hub comprising approximately 4,100 film and media companies and an industry market size of around EUR 8.4 billion (approx. KRW 13 trillion). 3Cat operates TV channels that have maintained the top viewership spot in Catalonia for ten consecutive years, radio networks, and its own OTT platform with over 1.3 million subscribers. Currently driving 70 to 80 international co-production projects annually, 3Cat is actively accelerating its production of globally competitive original content.
This visit follows a previous delegation led by ACCIÓ (Catalonia Trade & Investment) in April. The high-level delegation from 3Cat included key executives such as Rosa Romà, President of 3Cat; Daniel Hernández, Chief Strategy Officer; and Natàlia Prats, Chief Technology Officer.
Established in 1990, Film Fund Luxembourg is a government agency executing Luxembourg’s audiovisual support policies. Focusing on global co-productions, the fund provides development and production support for a wide array of content including feature films, series, animation, and XR (Extended Reality). It is recognized as one of Europe’s leading co-production funds. Recently, the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) and Film Fund Luxembourg signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to expand cooperation in the film sector and facilitate international co-productions between the two nations.
The visiting delegation from Luxembourg included Guy Daleiden, CEO of Film Fund Luxembourg—who also holds executive board positions at the European Film Agency Directors Association (EFAD) and European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE)—along with several producers, directors, and fund officials.
During the visits, Dexter Studios presented its post-production expertise, including VFX, and demonstrated practical applications of its AI VFX technologies. The parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding future partnerships, including joint production opportunities for films, dramas, and immersive media.
Hye-jin Kim, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Dexter Studios, stated: “3Cat represents the media landscape of Catalonia, Spain—a major powerhouse in the European media industry—while Film Fund Luxembourg possesses a world-class production support system and an extensive global network. As we continue active discussions with various European film and media entities across Spain, Luxembourg, France, and beyond, we expect to share meaningful milestones in global collaboration in the near future.”
