Dexter Studios reveals virtual human “Min Ji-oh”… Appears in new web series Bad Girlfriend

Visual effects (VFX) and content company Dexter Studios has entered the virtual human business in earnest with virtual human actor Min Ji-oh.
On July 27, Dexter Studios announced that its virtual human Min Ji-oh appeared in the web series Bad Girlfriend. The company plans to step up its efforts to become a global leader in immersive media content using Nest E&T’s virtual human business.
Currently, Dexter Studios’ projects involving virtual humans are being operated mainly by its affiliate Nest E&T. Nest E&T is a joint venture established by Dexter Studios in partnership with Dexter Krema, which develops global advertisements for major domestic companies such as LG Electronics and Dongkook Pharmaceutical, and DOB Studio. Using Dexter Studios’ technology and experience leading the production of various movies and serials, Dexter Krema’s advertising capabilities, and DOB Studio’s virtual human technology, Nest E&T is considered to have a robust all-around cooperative system in the virtual human business. Nest E&T is promoting various virtual human projects, including virtual human Min Ji-oh.
Bad Girlfriend, produced by Why Not Media, which is a powerhouse in web serials, is an office romance drama series where Ji-soo, a career woman juggling two relationships with different boyfriends at the same company. In episode 7, which was aired on the YouTube channel on July 26, Min Ji-o played the role of a part-time server at a cafe. She worked with the protagonist Ji-soo during her debut performance.
An official managing the Min Ji-oh project said, “Ji-oh visited the production company Why Not Media for a role in Bad Girlfriend and submitted her portfolio. She filmed all of this and posted it on Instagram.” The official added, “Ji-oh is like most other young adults who go through a variety of experiences and achieve things as they grow. She will take on opportunities regardless of the size and importance of the role to improve as an actor.”
Min Ji-oh is a hyper-realistic virtual human that is essentially indistinguishable from a real person. She has a virtual face created using artificial intelligence. Unlike other virtual humans who are mostly confined to SNS platforms, perfectly set up with stunning visuals, Min Ji-oh is an aspiring virtual human actor. She dreams of becoming an actor by working part-time as a model for a clothing brand. She has striking monolid eyes and softly flowing features. Min Ji-oh has an image that feels somewhat familiar – the audience could feel like they have already met her somewhere. She applies for various acting roles to gain more experience, and she studies fashion and home interior design in her spare time while filming audition reels. Hobby-wise, she shares images of herself enjoying simple walks through the city. Dexter Studios plans to showcase Min Ji-oh as a virtual human that younger people her age can relate to. By showing how she takes on new challenges with movies and TV serials, Dexter Studios is will share Min Ji-oh’s journey to becoming a fantastic actor.
